Our beginning, intermediate, and advanced climbing courses are designed to shorten the learning curve for participants who want to improve their skill set and discover new places to climb. All of our crock climbing courses are headed by a certified American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructor. We strive to provide quality instruction to everyone who is interested in developing the necessary technical skills to climb on their own.

This one day course is for those interested in learning the basic skills needed to climb outside with an experienced partner. Every climber needs a partner, even Alex Honnold (most of the time). After taking this course, you'll know basic knots, climbing commands, and belay technique so you'll be able to get out with your friends and climb.
Skills Covered: Setting up bolted anchors, rappelling, cleaning anchors.

Our Intermediate course dives into more advanced techniques for anyone interested in becoming a self-supporting climber. Our ultimate goal is to help you enjoy the adventures of rock climbing without a guide. This course covers the intermediate skills needed to do that. You'll learn how to access, build, clean and rappel from two piece bolted climbing anchors.
Skills Covered: Identifying a route, visualization, clipping quick-draws, mock leading, leading a sport climbing route.
Time: 9am-5pm
Prerequisites: Proficiency in basic climbing skills like belaying, knot tying, etc.; basic knowledge of anchor building, rappelling and cleaning an anchor.
Learn to climb from the bottom up and increase the efficiency of your climbing days. Lead climbing is the quintessential skill for experienced climbers, and leading sport climbs is your first step to climbing like a pro. Placing protection as you climb from the ground up, this course will teach you how to read a guidebook, plan your route, clip quickdraws and lead your first sport climb.
Skills Covered: Placing trad gear, building a variety of anchors, assessing anchors, predicting gear placements, extending protection, protecting ground falls, zippering.
Time: 2 days; 9am-5pm
Prerequisites: Proficiency in top-roping; lead belaying experience.
Traditional climbing, or trad climbing, involves placing your own gear in the rock as you lead up a route. This two day course is a deep dive into gear placement, anchor building and lead climbing - the foundational skills necessary for a lifetime of independent climbing adventures. You’ll learn to place traditional climbing protection, build anchors and lead trad climbs in the Granite Dells.

Building and evaluating anchors, a climber's primary lifeline, is a crucial skill for any rock climber. This clinic is designed to give you the skills needed to move away from bolted climbing anchors and free you to climb whatever your imagination desires. The sky's the limit for the proficient anchor builder.
