Frequently Asked Questions
Lodging & Facilities
How many people can Yavapai College accommodate?
We have space for up to 220 guests, offering dorm-style lodging with modern comforts.
What are the dorms like?
Our dorms are double occupancy, with a few single-occupancy rooms for group leaders. They feel like hotel-style accommodations, complete with in-unit bathrooms and a shared hallway connecting to other rooms. Each dorm also has common areas, perfect for socializing and group downtime.
Is there air conditioning and heat in your cabins?
Yes! All rooms have air conditioning and heat, so you’ll be comfortable no matter the season.
What do I need to bring?
We’ll send a full packing list before your trip, but plan on bringing bedding, towels, toiletries, and clothing for all kinds of weather. At 6,200 feet, temperatures can shift quickly, so layers and sun protection are a must! We provide toilet paper and hand soap, and our cabins are cleaned between groups.
Do the dorms lock? Where can I keep my valuables?
Yep! Your dorm room will lock, and each guest gets their own key. We recommend storing any valuables inside your room and keeping personal items out of shared spaces for safekeeping.
Do you have ADA accessible cabins?
Yes! We’ve got ADA-accessible rooms available in both our Kachina and Marapai dorms to help ensure everyone has a comfortable and accessible stay.
Will I have access to a refrigerator/microwave?
Sure will! Each dorm has shared common areas with a refrigerator and microwave available for use—perfect for snacks, leftovers, or a cozy cup of coffee.
Booking & Services
How do I reserve dates for my group?
Contact us to learn more!
Will there be another group at camp at the same time?
We do full site bookouts for Friendly Pines for groups with 150 or more total people. If your group is smaller than that, you can expect to share camp with another group. Each group has its own cabins for sleeping and all booked activities will be in their own groups. The dining hall and camp amenities are shared spaces
How far in advance do I need to book my group?
The earlier, the better! We recommend booking 6 months to a year out to lock in your preferred dates. That said, we do accept bookings as close as a month out—as long as there’s space available!
What is pricing like?
Our pricing depends on your group size, type of event, and the activities you’re interested in. Drop us a line to find out more!
What is needed to formally secure dates?
A non-refundable 25% deposit and a signed User Agreement will officially lock in your dates.
Can I come for a tour?
Absolutely—we’d love to show you around! Just contact our team to set up a time so we can give you the full tour and answer any questions.
How does billing work?
We will send a final invoice after your departure that is due within 30 days of receiving it.
Are there set arrival/departure days / times?
It varies depending on the type of group you’re coming with. Our booking team will go over all of this with you during your initial outreach.
Can you work with different dietary restrictions?
Yes! Our kitchen team regularly handles dietary restrictions to ensure everyone gets a meal they can enjoy. Be sure to fill out dietary info on the waiver before your trip.
Are there set menus?
Our rotating camp menu includes crowd-pleasers like burgers, pasta, tacos, and pancakes, plus a salad bar at every lunch and dinner. Menu upgrades are available for an additional fee, and wedding menus are customized during planning
What meeting rooms / common spaces are available for rent?
Depending on availability, a wide range of spaces are available—including the gym, pool, performance rooms, classrooms, sports fields, and more. Let us know what your group needs and we’ll help map it out!
