Frequently Asked Questions
Lodging & Facilities
How many people can Friendly Pines accommodate?
We have space for up to 321 guests, offering a cozy and classic summer camp experience.
What are your cabins like?
Think classic summer camp vibes (yes, kind of like The Parent Trap!). Our bunk-style cabins come with in-unit bathrooms, showers, and sinks—so you get the rustic charm of camp with just enough modern comfort to help you recharge after a full day of adventure.
Is there air conditioning and heat in your cabins?
Our cabins have heaters and fans but no air conditioning. Prescott’s cool evening air usually does the trick—just open the windows and enjoy the mountain breeze!
What do I need to bring?
We’ll send a full packing list before your trip, but plan on bringing bedding, towels, toiletries, and clothing for all kinds of weather. At 6,200 feet, temperatures can shift quickly, so layers and sun protection are a must! We provide toilet paper and hand soap, and our cabins are cleaned between groups.
Can we have a campfire?
Yes, campfires are typically allowed, but safety policies are in place. If burning restrictions are in effect, we have propane fire pits available so you can still gather around the “flames.”
Do the cabins lock? Where do I store valuables?
Cabins at Friendly Pines do not have locks, so we recommend leaving valuables at home. However, there’s a medicine cabinet in basecamp cabins for storing medications.
Are there ADA-accessible cabins?
We don’t currently have fully ADA-accessible cabins, but some have ramps and easier access than others. Let us know your needs, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
Will I have access to a refrigerator or microwave?
Cabins don’t have kitchen appliances, but there’s a microwave in the dining lodge, and we can provide fridge space for medications, special diets, or event needs.
What meeting rooms or common spaces are available? What do they come with?
We have meeting spaces equipped with tables and chairs. Our Pavilion has AV capabilities, and we also have a portable AV system that can be set up in other areas as needed.
Do we have to fill each cabin to capacity?
We ask groups to fill cabins to at least 60% capacity to avoid a small underfill charge.
Booking & Services
How do I reserve dates for my group?
Contact us to learn more!
Will there be other groups at camp during our stay?
If your group has 150+ guests, you get a full site bookout! If your group is smaller, you may be sharing the camp, but each group has its own cabins and scheduled activities. Shared spaces include the dining hall and camp amenities.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking 6 months to a year in advance for the best chance of getting your preferred dates. However, we accept bookings up to a month out if space is available!
What does pricing look like?
Pricing depends on group size, event type, and activity selection. Reach out to our team for more details!
What’s needed to secure our dates?
A non-refundable 25% deposit and a signed User Agreement will officially lock in your dates.
Can we take a tour?
Of course! Just contact us to schedule a time, and we’ll be happy to show you around.
How does billing work?
We’ll send a final invoice after your departure, which is due within 30 days of receiving it.
Are arrival and departure times flexible?
It depends on the type of group you’re bringing! Our booking team will work with you on scheduling during your initial outreach.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes! Our kitchen team regularly handles dietary restrictions to ensure everyone gets a meal they can enjoy. Be sure to fill out dietary info on the waiver before your trip.
What’s on the menu?
Our rotating camp menu includes crowd-pleasers like burgers, pasta, tacos, and pancakes, plus a salad bar at every lunch and dinner. Menu upgrades are available for an additional fee, and wedding menus are customized during planning.
